Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Security Supervisor for the MaRS Discovery site in downtown Toronto. You will lead daily operations, coach the guard team, and ensure tasks and safety policies are followed. A strong focus on incident documentation and client communication is required.

You must hold WSIB First Aid and CPR Level C, be fully vaccinated, and demonstrate reliable, professional English communication. Apply through the usual channels.

Qualifications

• Valid WSIB First Aid and CPR Level C certification required.
• Two doses of COVID‑19 vaccination.

• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, tact and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations and supervise Security Guards on shift.
• Ensure completion of standing orders and scheduled tasks.
• Monitor compliance with safety and security policies.
• Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols across the facility.
• Document incidents, complaints and operational issues; support investigations.
• Provide feedback and coaching; report to Client Service Manager.
• Prepare a short PowerPoint for recruitment processes.

Employment Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $21.86 /hr

Site: MaRS Discovery

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement after 88 hours

What You'll Be Doing

As a Security Supervisor, you will lead daily site operations and support your team on duty. Your core responsibilities include:

• Providing direction, ongoing coaching, and leadership to Security Guards on site.
• Ensuring all daily standing orders and scheduled tasks are completed effectively during each shift.
• Monitoring compliance with company and site-specific safety and security policies.
• Conducting proactive and reactive security patrols across the facility.
• Performing security audits and managing shift attendance.
• Documenting and investigating security incidents, complaints, and operational issues.
• Recognizing high performance with commendations and handling disciplinary documentation when required.
• Maintaining clear, ongoing communication with the Client Service Manager.
• Preparing a short PowerPoint presentation as part of the recruitment process.

Must Haves

• Valid WSIB-approved First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
• Proof of two doses of COVID-19 vaccination.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, tact, and diplomacy.

Nice-to-Haves

• At least two years of security experience in a team lead or supervisory role.
• Post-secondary education in a law enforcement or security program from a recognized college.
• Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and the Mental Health Act.
