Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Security Team Lead for Baycrest Hospital in North York, ON. The role is full-time, on-site, with a nightly Continental schedule (20:00–08:00) and a pay rate of CA$24.91 per hour.

You will oversee security operations, coordinate shifts, monitor CCTV and access control, dispatch staff, and resolve incidents while coaching guards and conducting audits. Required certifications, licenses, and immunizations are listed in the posting.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of security team lead experience.
• Valid WSIB-approved First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and MOAB.
• Valid G class Driver’s License.
• High School Diploma or GED; immunization records including TB 1+2, MMR, Varicella; 2 COVID-19 doses.
• Availability for continental night shifts (20:00–08:00).
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day security operations during shift.
• Coordinate shift activities and ensure completion of daily standing orders.
• Monitor access control, CCTV, and fire/life safety systems.
• Answer calls, dispatch staff, and issue overhead emergency announcements.
• Liaise with visitors, clients, and hospital staff to resolve concerns and diffusing incidents.
• Investigate and document security incidents per procedures.
• Plan shift schedules and manage key/ID/access card issuance.
• Coach and train site guards and ensure policy compliance.
• Conduct security audits and proactive patrols.

What You'll Be Doing

• As a Security Team Lead, you will oversee day-to-day security operations during your shift, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Coordinate shift activities and ensure team members complete all daily standing orders.
• Monitor access control, CCTV, and fire/life safety systems.
• Answer calls, dispatch staff efficiently, and make overhead emergency announcements when necessary.
• Liaise with visitors, clients, and hospital staff to resolve concerns and diffuse incidents.
• Investigate and document security incidents and complaints in line with established procedures.
• Plan shift schedules, track deployment, and manage facility key and ID/access card issuance.
• Coach and train site guards, ensuring compliance with security policies and ongoing training requirements.
• Conduct security audits to identify vulnerabilities and perform proactive facility patrols.

Must Haves

• 1 to 2 years of security team lead experience.
• Valid WSIB-approved First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
• Valid G class Driver’s License.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Complete immunization records (TB 1+2, MMR, Varicella) and a minimum of 2 COVID-19 vaccine doses.
• Availability to work continental night shifts (20:00 to 08:00).
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Nice-to-Haves

• Diploma in Police Foundations or Degree in Law and Justice Studies.
• At least 1 year of dispatch or scheduling experience.
• Working knowledge of security equipment, access control systems, and CCTV.
