Job summary

Great Canadian Gaming Corp in Belleville, Ontario, is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard team members, guests, the facility and assets under the direction of the Manager, Security. You will monitor, report on incidents, enforce restricted access, escort cash, conduct patrols, perform ID checks and coordinate with other departments to maintain licensing compliance and safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 2+ years experience in security or related field
• Smart Serve Certificate
• Guard Force Training
• First Aid/AED Level C Certificate
• Willingness to recertify for Use of Force every 3 years
• Ability to obtain a Gaming License

Responsibilities

• Monitors, documents and prepares statements/reports on violations, hazards, suspicious activity
• Enforces restricted access by unauthorized persons
• Observes transactions and escorts as needed
• Escorts cash/cash equivalents
• Tags and reports found property; transfers items to Lost and Found
• Conducts regular patrols of interior and exterior areas
• Escorts guests and team members as directed
• Performs identification checks
• Refers disputes to the Supervisor, Security
• Performs crowd control as directed
• Communicates with operational departments
• Builds relationships with guests and team members
• Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Security, this position is responsible for the safety and protection of team members, guests, the facility (both internal and external) and the company's assets while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

• Monitors, documents and prepares statements and/or reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons or activities


• Enforces restricted access by unauthorized persons


• Observes transactions, pulls, fills, transfers, etc.


• Escorts cash/cash equivalents


• Tags and reports found property; transfers items to Lost and Found


• Conducts regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed


• Escorts guests and team members as directed


• Performs identification checks


• Refers disputes to the Supervisor, Security


• Performs crowd control as directed


• Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments


• Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members


• Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations


• Performs other duties as assigned or directed
