Job summary

Hard Rock Ottawa Hotel & Casino is seeking a Casino Security Officer to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. You will monitor operations, patrol gaming areas, respond to incidents, and enforce policies and safety procedures while supporting guest services and loss prevention.

The role requires strong observation, professionalism, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in Law and Security preferred.
• Working knowledge of computer application packages.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certificate.
• Ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario

Responsibilities

• Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Alcohol Gaming Commission Ontario (AGCO).
• Ensures that proper security is provided for all transfers of monies within the casino.
• Assist patrons with a wide variety of inquiries and situations including providing information about the property and events, giving directions and possibly escorting them if necessary.
• Prepare detailed incident reports in a clear and precise manner.
• Patrol the casino areas to establish a security presence and report all unusual situations and/or suspicious activity.
• Assist in the coordination and resolution of emergencies and maintain proper keys.
• Demonstrate a commitment to responsible gaming and alcohol service and notify managers of concerns.
• Support the Company's Mission and Values in daily actions.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to choose Hard Rock for gaming entertainment.
• Live the Brand in daily duties.

Overview

The Casino Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, employees, and property. This role monitors casino operations, patrols gaming and public areas, responds to incidents and emergencies, and enforces company policies, gaming regulations, and safety procedures. The Security Officer plays a key role in loss prevention, conflict resolution, and customer service while ensuring the integrity of casino operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong observation skills, professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Qualifications, Expierence, Education

• A minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Law and Security preferred
• Working knowledge of computer application packages

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to walk distances.
• The employee must frequently lift/push/pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

• Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a highly regulated and controlled environment, but there will be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor to complete job functions as outlined or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.
