Job summary

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited is hiring a Security Officer to oversee security across the casino, ensuring guests and staff are safe and secure. The role emphasizes customer service, reporting, and rapid response to incidents on the gaming floor.

The position requires 6 months in security, First Aid/CPR certification, and ability to obtain BC IGCO registration, with employer sponsorship for GSO training or completion within 90 days. Casual, shift-based hours with benefits available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security experience.
• Proven high level of customer service.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Solid analytical and communication skills, written and verbal.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to obtain IGCO registration.
• Sensitive in dealing with people and proactive in providing solutions.
• Good judgment and understanding of casino operations.
• Experience with computers and surveillance equipment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Completion of Gaming Security Officer (GSO) training/exam before start (sponsor) or valid BC Security License and GSO training within 90 days.
• ProTect and Deal Us Security Staff Training completion within 30 days in Alberta.
• Completion of Serving It Right/Proserve/Smart Serve certificates prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a presence on the gaming floor and respond to guest inquiries quickly.
• Control access to the facility and sensitive areas.
• Monitor alarm panels and manage keys.
• Write reports, maintain a daily log and conduct investigations.
• Provide First Aid and medical attention as required.

Job Summary

As the Security Officer, you oversee security throughout the casino, ensuring guests and employees are secure and protected at all times. In this key role, you will help create a comfortable environment where others feel the reassuring calm of your presence. Internally, you will protect the company from theft and/or fraud, while delivering a rock-solid commitment to customer service.

Job Type: Casual
Wages: $23.90 per hour

• Completion of Gaming Security Officer (GSO) training/exam prior to start (employer will sponsor) OR valid BC Security License and completion of Gaming Security Officer (GSO) training/exam within 90 days of start in B.C.
• ProTect and Deal Us Security Staff Training program completion within 30 days of start in Alberta.
• Completion of Serving It Right (BC)/ Proserve (Alberta)/ Smart Serve (Ontario) certificate prior to start date.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Capacity to physically restrain and secure individuals using prescribed techniques.
• Social perceptiveness and good vision to identify people.
