Job summary

Great Canadian Entertainment in Ontario seeks a Security Officer to protect guests, team members, and assets. Under supervision, you will perform patrols, enforce access control, and report incidents to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

Required: High School Diploma, 2 years of experience, Smart Serve, Guard Force Training, First Aid/AED Level C, and ability to recertify Use of Force; gaming license eligibility is also needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience.
  • Smart Serve Certificate required.
  • Guard Force Training certification is preferred.
  • First Aid/AED Level C Certificate is required.
  • Must recertify every 3 years for Use of Force Certification.
  • Ability to obtain a Gaming License.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors, documents and reports violations and hazards.
  • Enforces restricted access and escorts guests and staff.
  • Conducts regular patrols of interior and exterior areas.
  • Performs identification checks and crowd control as needed.
  • Communicates with operational departments and maintains good guest relations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Security, this position is responsible for the safety and protection of team members, guests, the facility (both internal and external) and the company's assets while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities
  • Monitors, documents and prepares statements and/or reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons or activities
  • Enforces restricted access by unauthorized persons
  • Observes transactions, pulls, fills, transfers, etc.
  • Escorts cash/cash equivalents
  • Tags and reports found property; transfers items to Lost and Found
  • Conducts regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed
  • Escorts guests and team members as directed
  • Performs identification checks
  • Refers disputes to the Supervisor, Security
  • Performs crowd control as directed
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education And Qualifications

Work Environment Considerations
  • Regular casino/Racino environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, some elements of danger, some exposure to the elements, some exposure to noise, some exposure to verbal or physical abuse, non-traditional work hours
