Job summary

Great Canadian Entertainment is seeking a Security Officer under the direct supervision of the Manager, Security. This role protects team members, guests, the facility and assets while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment across all areas.

You will enforce policies, monitor for hazards, perform access checks, escort guests and staff, and coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with health and safety laws.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience.
  • Food Safety Certificate.
  • Guard Force Training is an asset.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 Certificate is an asset.
  • Must be willing to recertify every 3 years for Use of Force Certification.
  • Ability to obtain a Gaming License.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors, documents and prepares statements and/or reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons or activities.
  • Enforces restricted access by unauthorized persons.
  • Observes transactions, pulls, fills, transfers, etc.
  • Escorts cash/cash equivalents.
  • Tags and reports found property; transfers items to Lost and Found.
  • Conducts regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed.
  • Escorts guests and team members as directed.
  • Performs identification checks.
  • Refers disputes to the Supervisor, Security.
  • Performs crowd control as directed.
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members.
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Education

High School Diploma
Minimum 2 years of work experience
Food Safety Certificate
Guard Force Training
Occupational First Aid Level 2 Certificate
Must be willing to recertify every 3 years for Use of Force Certification
Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
