Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a Commissionaire for Keele Corrections Centre in Toronto. The role requires vigilant access control, patrolling, and responding to alarms while maintaining professionalism and strong customer service.

The ideal candidate will hold an Ontario Security Guard Licence, First Aid/CPR, and be able to obtain Reliability clearance. Flexible shifts and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have Ontario Secondary School Diploma or higher.
• Must possess Ontario Security Guard License.
• Must have valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Must be able to obtain Reliability security clearance (Canadian resident 5+ years or longer, clean record, clean credit history).
• Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure access control and secure client property.
• Escort contractors and visitors as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, visitors and clients.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment.
• Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors.
• Complete daily logs and written reports as necessary.
• Conduct patrols and respond to alarms.
• Operate within site supervisor directives and client requirements.

INTRODUCTION

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured
• Escorting contractors and visitors as required
• Maintaining professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
• Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and deportment
• Providing assistance to employees, clients and visitors
• Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary
  
• Ability to stand/sit for longer periods of time
• Making sure area of work is always monitored
• Able to conduct patrols and respond to alarms
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

• Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently), ability to speak French is consider an asset

• The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential

Hourly Rate of Pay: $22.98

Location: Keele Corrections Centre, 330 Keele Street

Hours of work: Rotational Schedule

Monday- Friday :- 14:45 - 23:00, Monday-Friday :-22:45 - 07:00

Must be flexible to work on weekends as required.
