Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is seeking a Commissionaire to join our Ontario operations. The role focuses on patrols, access control, and protecting client property at CFB Borden Garrison in Ontario.

You will patrol, secure entrances, respond to alarms, and maintain logs while upholding professional standards and clear radio communication. Applicants must have security credentials and be able to work shifts including nights.

Qualifications

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma required.
• Must hold Ontario Security Guard License.
• Must have First Aid and CPR certification.
• Must have a Full G class driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must be able to obtain Secret Security Clearance (resident in Canada 10+ years, clean record).
• Ability to stand, walk, patrol for long periods.
• Fluent English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle patrols at CFB Borden Garrison.
• Roving patrol guard and access control; escort visitors as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, visitors and clients.
• Operate two-way radio and document daily logs and reports.
• Respond to alarms and secure/open gates as directed.
• Perform physical checks of buildings as directed.

INTRODUCTION:

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Conducting vehicle patrols throughout CFB Borden Garrison


• Roving Patrol Guard


• Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured, escorting visitors as required


• Maintaining positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients


• Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and deportment


• Good Radio communication


• Conducting physical checks of buildings at directed


• Secure and open Access Gates as directed


• Responding to alarms and utilization of alarm panels
  


• Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary
  


• Ability to stand/sit for a longer period of time
  


• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

• Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time


• Ability to complete frequent patrols


• Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently), ability to speak French is consider an asset


• *MUST* be able to operate a two way radio


• Must be 25 years of age old or older for company insurance.
  

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

• Job type: Full-time


• Hourly Rate of Pay: $27.93 per hour


• Hours of work: Monday to Sunday 1800 to 0600hrs
