Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a casual Commissionaire for Newmarket, Ontario. The role focuses on access control, patrols, reporting, and customer service at client sites.

The position requires a valid Ontario Security Guard License, First Aid/ CPR, and ability to obtain Level II clearance. Flexible hours and competitive hourly pay are offered to support client security needs.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License is required.
• Valid WSIB First Aid and CPR certificate is required.
• Ability to obtain Level II (Secret) clearance (Canada 10+ years, clean record).
• Ability to work alone with high level of service.
• High attention to detail and strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure access control policies are followed and client property is secured.
• Monitor CCTV cameras and respond to alarms and calls for assistance.
• Maintain professional appearance and communication with staff, visitors and clients.
• Complete site reporting, logs and written reports.
• Conduct regular interior and exterior foot patrols.
• Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors.
• Perform other duties as required by client or site supervisor.

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team as a spare/casual employee. This posting is for an upcoming vacancies.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
• Monitor CCTV cameras
• Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
• Maintain effective communication
• Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
• Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
• Regular interior and exterior foot patrols
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor
