Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is seeking a versatile Security Professional for a full-time site-based role at our Markham location. The position requires guarding, access control, CCTV familiarity, and strong customer service to protect client properties.

Hours are 08:00–16:00, Monday through Friday, with an emphasis on reliability, professionalism, and careful attention to safety protocols. Ontario license and First Aid/CPR are mandatory, with opportunities for growth within a respected

Qualifications

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License is required.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificates required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform patrols.
• Customer service and reception/administrative skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high service standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure access control and escort visitors as required.
• Operate and have working knowledge of CCTV equipment.
• Knowledge of Keyscan access system.
• Complete shipping and receiving duties when required.
• Maintain professional appearance and positive relationships with staff, visitors and clients.
• Respond to alarms and prepare daily logs/reports.
• Ensure licenses and First Aid are current for teams.
• Conduct frequent patrols and stand for long periods.
• Report incidents to the Account Supervisor.
• Other duties as required by the client or Account Supervisor.

OVERVIEW:

Commissionaires Great Lakes offers an immediate opportunity for a versatile, highly motivated Security Professional. We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills, strong working knowledge of computer systems, CCTV experience, a positive attitude and the ability to provide excellent customer service, security and protection for our client’s site. As a front-line representative of our company and client’s site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multi task and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Hourly Rate of Pay: $19.57
• Hours of work: 0800-16:00 hours (Mon-Fri- Spare)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured, escorting visitors as required
• Working knowledge of CCTV equipment.
• Working knowledge of Keyscan
• Completing shipping and receiving duties when required.
• Maintaining positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors, and clients.
• Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and deportment and also ensure their team is meeting

the same expected standards.

• Responding to alarms and utilization of alarm panels.
• Providing assistance to employees, clients and visitors.
• Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary and ensure they are done correctly and timely.
• Ensure License and First Aid is Current for their teams
• The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols
• Abel to bend and lift up to 11 Lbs. (Weight of a Trailer Pin Lock Locking Devices)
• Strong understanding of computers
• Customer service/reception
• Report all Incidents and Occurrences to the Account Supervisor
• Other duties as may be required by the client or Account Supervisor

REQUIREMENTS

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma
• *MUST*Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  
• *MUST*Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  
• The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols
• Customer service/reception/administrative skills
• The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
