Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a Commissionaire to join our Ontario team at a Midland location. The role focuses on access control, patrols, monitoring CCTV, and ensuring client property security across shifts including days, afternoons, overnights, and weekends.

The ideal candidate will hold an Ontario Security Guard License, First Aid/CPR, and a valid Reliability Security Clearance, with ability to stand for long periods and work independently to deliver high levels of service.

Qualifications

• Must have Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
• Must hold valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Must hold valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Must be able to obtain a Reliability (Level I) Security Clearance; minimum 5 years of residency in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
• Monitor CCTV cameras
• Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
• Maintain effective communication
• Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
• Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
• Regular interior and exterior foot patrols
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

• Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.25 per hour
• Hours of work: This is a backfill position. The selected candidate must be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, afternoons, overnights, and weekends.
