Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes seeks a Commissionaire for a 12-month vacancy in Hamilton, Ontario. The role involves access control, patrols, and responding to alarms at client sites, with duties including visitor handling and reporting.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Level I (Reliability) Clearance - minimum 5 Years of Residency in Canada
• Must complete CGL’s Use of Force Class
• The ability to stand for long periods and complete frequent patrols
• Good understanding of computers
• Customer service/reception/administrative skills
• The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential

Responsibilities

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secure

• Verify identification and sign in/out visitors as required

• Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors

INTRODUCTION

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is an existing vacancy for 12‑months.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU

• Rate of Pay: $27.66 per hour (after completing UoF training)
• Working Hours: 0800 - 1600, Monday to Friday
