Job summary

Commissionaires Victoria, the Islands & Yukon seeks security personnel for Nanaimo Airport sites. The role offers evening shifts with part-time/full-time options, and a wage of 20.50 CAD per hour plus a shift premium. You will provide access control, patrols, and emergency response while upholding safety standards.

Ideal candidates are licensed, legally eligible to work in Canada, 19+, fluent in English, and capable of handling diverse weather conditions with a professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• BC Security Worker license required or in progress.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and 19+.
• Able to obtain a Reliability Clearance.
• Fluent in English; good writing and reading skills.
• Physically capable of standing for long periods outdoors.
• Responsive, professional, and able to handle emergencies calmly.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior client and public service at access points.
• Conduct access control and security foot patrols as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and conflicts; follow evacuation procedures.
• Report issues to site supervisor; maintain safety standards.
• Demonstrate multi-tasking, organization, and problem solving.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide superior customer service to clients and general public.
• Provide access control and security foot patrols as needed.
• Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
• Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures.
• Communicate problems or concerns to the site supervisor.
• Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.
• Have knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
• Perform all duties with high safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• BC Security Worker license.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Must be able to obtain a Reliability Clearance and be minimum 19 years of age.
• Must be physically fit and able to stand for long periods at a time.
• Must be able to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
• Must be fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills.
• Must have a positive attitude with a professional demeanour, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Have excellent attention to detail to fulfill duties and responsibilities and incident report writing.
• Have excellent problem solving skills with an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.
• Have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
• Have a demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public.
