Job summary

Commissionaires Victoria, The Islands and Yukon is seeking dedicated security professionals to protect airports, schools, government facilities and more. Location: CFMETR - Nanoose Bay, with shifts across Vancouver Island and into the Yukon.

Starting wage: CAD 20–21.53 per hour. You will perform access control, patrols, and emergency response while delivering top-tier customer service and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Government of Canada level II (Secret) security clearance.
• Must complete Commissionaire Security Officer Course.
• Physically fit and able to walk patrols.
• Able to work in various weather conditions.
• Fluent in English (written, verbal, reading).
• Strong attention to detail and incident reporting.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Superior customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to clients and the general public.
• Provide access control and security foot/mobile patrols as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and resolve conflicts.
• Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures when necessary.
• Operate mobile devices and basic computer programs.
• Report problems or concerns to the site supervisor.
• Demonstrate multi-tasking, problem-solving, organizational skills.
• Know occupational health and safety regulations – training provided.
• Perform duties with high safety standards.

Shifts: Various days, evenings, and overnight shifts

Reports to: Site Supervisor

Starting Wage: $20/hr - 21.53/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to clients and the general public.
• Provide access control and security foot/mobile patrols as needed.
• Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
• Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures when necessary.
• Using mobile phones and basic computer programs.
• Communicate problems or concerns to the site supervisor.
• Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.
• Know occupational health and safety regulations – training provided.
• Perform all duties with high safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Have or be able to obtain a Government of Canada level II (Secret) security clearance
• Must complete the Commissionaire Security Officer Course.
• Must be physically fit and able to walk patrols.
• Must be able to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
• Must be fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills.
• Have excellent attention to detail and incident report writing skills.
• Have excellent problem solving skills with an ability to handle stressful situations in a calm manner.
• Have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
• Have superior customer service skills.
