Commissionaires Victoria, The Islands And Yukon is seeking part-time security professionals to provide customer service, access control, and security patrols at various Nanaimo sites. Roles include responding to emergencies, evacuations, and reports while upholding safety standards.

Positions offer flexible shifts across Vancouver Island and into the Yukon; priorities include reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work in diverse weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid BC Security Workers License or be willing to complete training.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Must be able to obtain a Reliability Clearance and be minimum 19 years of age.
• Must be physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
• Must be able to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
• CSOC completion (online course) required.
• Must be fluent in English — written, verbal and reading skills.
• Must have a positive attitude with a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
• Have excellent attention to detail to fulfill duties and incident reporting.
• Have strong problem solving skills with ability to handle emergencies calmly.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions across varying situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to clients and general public.

• Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
• Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures.
• Communicate problems or concerns to the site supervisor.

• Have knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
• Perform all duties with high safety standards.

Position Status: Part-Time available

Wage Range: $20.00/hr - $21.52/hr

Shifts: Various days, evenings, and overnight shifts

Reports to: Site Supervisor
