Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a Commissionaire for security and access control roles across multiple Toronto locations. The position requires a valid Ontario Security Guard License, First Aid/CPR, and reliability clearance, with duties including visitor management, reporting, and patrols.

You will operate security equipment, maintain professional appearance, and respond to alarms, while coordinating with site supervisors to protect client property and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Level I Reliability Clearance or greater.
• Must be able to pass the CGL Use of Force Level III course.
• Ability to stand for long periods and complete frequent patrols.
• Good understanding of computers; able to use email and Office tools.
• Strong customer service/reception/administrative skills.
• Ability to work alone while maintaining high service levels.

INTRODUCTION

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

POSITION SUMMARY

Job type: Security/Access Control Use of Force

Reports to: Site Supervisor/Regional Manager

Anticipated start date: ASAP

Posting Close Date: Until filled

Hourly Rate of Pay: $26.86/hr and up depending on the military site you work

Hours of work: (12 Hours)(Paid Meal Breaks)

Shifts: Shift times may very depending on location and opening

Location: 660 Fleet St Toronto /130 Queen Street East Toronto/ 1 Yukon Lane Downsview, Toronto

Accessible by Transit: Yes

Uniform: White Shirt, Cargo pants, black footwear, Use of Force Level III equipment(CM)

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment

• Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
• Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
• Regular interior foot patrols
• Make sure the Security Desk is always monitoredAble to operate a computer with email and Microsoft Office systems
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
• Level I Reliability Clearance or Greater
• Must be able to pass the CGL Use of Force Level III course
• The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols
• Good understanding of computers
• Customer service/reception/administrative skills
• The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
