Paladin Security in downtown Ottawa's Place de Ville is hiring a part-time Security Guard to protect federal government tenants and visitors. You will manage access control, monitor CCTV, and conduct patrols across office towers, parking facilities, and the concourse.

This role emphasizes safety, customer service, and de-escalation, with ongoing training, paid vacation, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario.
• Current First Aid and CPR - Level C Certification.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Functional computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
• Physical capability to conduct consistent foot patrols across a large multi-building site.
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanour.

Responsibilities

• Manage access control by verifying badges, identification, and security credentials for federal government employees, contractors, and visitors, including issuing passes and logging guests.
• Monitor CCTV networks and facility alarm panels from the central operations control room to maintain sitewide awareness.
• Conduct regular foot patrols across office towers, parking facilities, and the retail concourse.
• Perform safety checks on fire exits, facility infrastructure, and potential hazards to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Respond to medical emergencies, facility evacuations, and public disruptions using tactical communication and de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with local emergency services and Ottawa Police, completing detailed incident reports and assisting as required.

Pay Rate: $18.35/hour

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Site Overview

Place de Ville is a prominent commercial complex located in the heart of downtown Ottawa. Encompassing four major office towers, underground parking garages, and a bustling subterranean retail concourse directly connected to Lyon Station, this site primarily serves federal government tenants, contractors, and members of the public. It offers a dynamic, high-profile environment for security professionals seeking professional experience in property protection and customer service.

What You'll Be Doing
