Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a Commissionaire for a night shift position in Markham. The job offers $21.22 per hour with shift hours 2300–0700, Monday to Friday, at 4175 14th Avenue, Markham. You will perform screening, access control, patrols, incident reporting and liaise with emergency services.

The role requires a valid Ontario Security Guard License, WSIB First Aid/CPR, and strong computer skills. Training and team support are provided.

Qualifications

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma is required
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License is required
• Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate is required
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and ability to learn security management/CRM software
• Excellent customer service and reception skills

Responsibilities

• Execute screening procedures for personnel, equipment, and material entering and leaving the site.
• Monitor network video systems.
• Perform access control alarm monitoring and response.
• Manage access card printing and distribution.
• Create and verify contractor access tickets and provide escort as required.
• Execute asset management procedures per Post Orders.
• Execute key management procedures per Post Orders.
• Conduct property patrols of client locations per site instructions.
• Liaise with Police, Fire, and EMS during incidents.
• Complete patrol and incident reports using reporting software and paper records.
• Maintain professionalism at all times during interactions.
• Complete all assigned training promptly.
• Be available to adjust schedule to support the team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager

INTRODUCTION:

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Execute screening procedures for personnel, equipment, and material entering and leaving the site, ensuring the Client's property is secured.
• Monitor network video systems.
• Perform access control alarm monitoring and response.
• Manage access card printing and distribution.
• Create and verify contractor access tickets and provide escort as required.
• Execute asset management procedures in accordance with Post Orders.
• Execute key management procedures in accordance with Post Orders.
• Conduct property patrols of client locations in accordance with site instructions.
• Liaise with Police, Fire, and EMS as appropriate during incidents.

• Maintain professionalism at all times during interactions.
• Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.

• Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
