Qualifications

• Valid BC Security Workers License is an asset.
• Valid BC Driver's License is an asset.
• Ability to perform patrol duties in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist and inform employees and clients courteously.
• Ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
• Conduct foot patrols to maintain visibility across property.
• Respond effectively to emergencies such as fire alarms.
• Document incidents and activities in detailed reports.
• Ensure security equipment is functioning and report malfunctions.

Job description

Location: Various sites in Port Hardy

Position Status: Part-Time, Possibility of Full-Time

Wage Range: $20.50/hr - $21.53/hr

Shifts: Various days, evenings, and overnight shifts

Reports to: Site Supervisor

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide assistance and information to employees, visitors, and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provide access control ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas by verifying credentials
• Conductfootspatrols to maintain visibility and cover all areas of the property
• Respondquickly and effectively to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, or security breaches; take appropriate actionand coordinate with emergency services if necessary
• Documentincidents, observations, and security-related activities in detailed written reports using Tracktik.
• Ensuresecurity equipment such as radios, phones, access control systemsare functioning,reporting any malfunctions

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Positive attitude with a professional demeanour to provide superior customer service.
• A valid BC Security Workers Licenseis an asset
• A valid BC Driver's License is an asset.
• Physically fit and able to perform patrol duties effectivelyin a range of weather conditions.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in English to communication with other and write reports.
• Excellent problem solving skills with an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
