Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Dispatcher in Toronto to monitor and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinating with security personnel to ensure prompt responses. You will use various communication devices, remain composed during high-pressure situations, and prioritize dispatch actions.

Ideal candidates will have a Canadian work authorization, Ontario Security Guard license, and First Aid/CPR Level C.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in Canada.
• Must have Ontario Security Guard License.
• First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
• Full-Time 12-hour continental rotation (days & nights).
• Downtown Toronto commuting required.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Initiate appropriate response and transfer callers as needed.
• Operate computerized comms devices to relay information to security personnel.
• Remain calm under pressure and multitask during high call volumes.
• Prioritize and dispatch accordingly.
• Problem-solve on the go using training and tools.

As a Dispatcher, communication is essential as you will be the person spotting threats before they escalat at a post-secondary educational institute, located at Downtown, Toronto.

• Full-Time Shift Schedule: Monday to Sunday: 8AM-8PM & 8PM-8AM (12-hour Continental Rotation) (2 weeks days/2 weeks nights)

Responsibilities For Dispatcher

• Receive incoming emergency and non-emergency calls from community and non-community members
• Initiate the appropriate response promptly including connecting and transferring the caller to the right person
• Operate with various computerized communication devices and associated equipment to receive, assess, and relay information from the public to security personnel in a courteous, professional, and expedient manner
• Remain calm under pressure and be able to multitask during high call volumes from telephone and radio communications
• Be able to prioritize and dispatch accordingly
• Problem-solve on the go utilizing tools and training you’ve acquired

Qualifications For Disptacher

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Must have valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Must have Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification(WSIB Approved)
• Must be able to commmit to Full-Time 12 hour continental rotation schedule (Monday - Sunday including days & nights)
• Must be able to commute to Downtown Toronto with no onsite parking
• Working Knowledge of Criminal Code and Trespass to Property Act enforcement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
• Strong documentation and report-writing abilities
• Computer proficiency (MS Office, Google Suite)
