GardaWorld is hiring a Full-Time Tactical Campus Security Guard to protect a post-secondary campus in Toronto. The role emphasizes risk awareness, patrolling, and community engagement within a dynamic university setting.

Applicants must hold a valid Ontario security guard license, WSIB First Aid/CPR Level C, and have at least 1 year of tactical security experience. GardaWorld offers ongoing training and uniform provision.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Patrol critical areas to spot suspicious activity.
• Check IDs and control access to secure areas.
• React quickly to threats and document actions taken.
• Handle alarms and conduct on-site checks.
• Partner with law enforcement during serious incidents.
• Proactively patrol the campus in the downtown core.
• Respond to and document security occurrences and hazards.
• Enforce Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, and university rules.
• Engage with community on safety planning and initiatives.
• Patrol in uniform by foot, bike, or vehicle.

As a Tactical Security Guard, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling a post-secondary institution located at M5B 1Y2 (Downtown Toronto).

Responsibilities for Tactical Campus Security Guard

• Patrol critical areas to spot any suspicious activity
• Check identification and control access to secure areas
• React quickly to threats or incidents and document actions taken
• Handle alarms and conduct on-site checks
• Partner with law enforcement during serious incidents
• Proactively patrol the University campus situated in the downtown core.
• Respond to and document security occurrences, violations, hazards, suspicious activities, maintenance-related problems and other related duties as assigned.
• Interpret and enforce the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act of Ontario and University regulations.
• Work with the community on safety planning and community engagement initiatives.
• Patrol in uniform by foot, bike or vehicle.
• Work with and interact positively in a dynamic team atmosphere based on the principles of Community Policing.
• Liaise and build relationships with the community and stakeholders to help foster community engagement.

Qualifications for Tactical Campus Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid Ontario security guard license
• Ability to stand and walk throughoutshift
• Must have WSIB approved Standard First Aid and CPR level C certification
• Minimum 1 year previous tactical experience
• Be a self-starter with strong initiative
• Be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks & responsibilities.
