Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Security Control Room Operator in Calgary, Alberta. You will monitor access, respond to alarms, and coordinate with emergency teams to maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors.

The role emphasizes exceptional customer service across shifts in offices, hotels, and shopping centers. A valid Alberta Security License and 1+ year in control room are required, with full-time hours and training opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in Canada.
• Valid Alberta Security License.
• Minimum 1 year control room/dispatch experience.
• Experience with monitoring and operation of video and surveillance systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access, ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
• Monitor building alarms and security notifications, investigate alerts, and escalate incidents.
• Conduct foot patrols to identify potential risks.
• Inspect security equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Control and monitor access credentials, keys, fobs, visitor passes, and other security assets.
• Address incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams.
• Write incident reports and communicate security concerns.
• Answer questions in person or by phone.

Responsibilities For a Security Control Room Operator

• Monitor and control access, ensuring only authorized employees, guests, conractors and visitors enter restricted areas.
• Monitor building alarms and secuirty notifications, investigate alerts, and elevate incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct foot patrols to identify potential risks
• Inspect security equipment and report any maintenance needs
• Control and monitor access credentials, keys, fobs, visitor passes, and other security related assets.
• Address incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams
• Write incident reports and communicate security concerns
• Answer questions in person or by phone

Qualifications For a Security Control Room Operator

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid Alberta Security License
• Minimum 1 year control room/disptatch experience
• Previous security concierge experience is an asset
• Strong computer and typing skills, proficient with Microsoft Office
• Experience with monitoring and operation of video and surveillance systems
• Problem Solving skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
