A leading not-for-profit organization, the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is seeking a Section Manager in Supply Chain to lead procurement efforts. This role involves strategic sourcing, complex contract management, and strong leadership to ensure successful procurement processes while adhering to safety and environmental standards. Founded in 2002, the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is a not-for-profit organization responsible for the safe, long-term management of Canada’s intermediate- and high-level radioactive waste, ensuring protection for people and the environment for future generations.
The NWMO has been guided for over 20 years by a team of world-class scientists, engineers, and Indigenous Knowledge Holders developing innovative solutions for nuclear waste management. In 2024, NWMO selected Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation and the Township of Ignace as hosts for a deep geological repository for used nuclear fuel.
This decision will lead to the relocation of our office and staff to Ignace, Ont., and the repository will be situated near Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation and the Township of Ignace. Infrastructure planning and development are underway to support this transition, ensuring the community and our employees are well-supported now and in the future.

Position Location: Toronto Head Office – 22 St. Clair Avenue East
OR Ignace, Ontario – 304 Main Street
Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain, the Section Manager will lead a team in planning, executing, and coordinating technical procurement assignments for consulting services and engineered products. The role involves developing procurement strategies and managing complex contracts to purchase materials and services that are technically, commercially, and legally intricate.
Residing in the Greater Toronto Area: Office at 22 St. Clair Avenue East until relocation is required.
NWMO operates a hybrid work model: 3 days in-office (Tuesdays are mandatory) and 2 days remote.
