Job summary

ESS Canada in Dubreuilville, ON is seeking a Second/Baker Cook to prepare and cook food in a high-volume camp setting. You will pre-cook, mise en place, and ensure safety and quality with strict health standards.

Requirements include a minimum of 2 years' cook experience in banquet/hotel/camp, breakfast/baking assets, and a Food Safety Certification. Shift is 10 hours per day with 20 on/10 off, Fly In/Fly Out with remote camp accommodations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' Cook experience in a banquet, hotel restaurant or camp setting.
• Breakfast Cook and Baking experience an asset.
• Baking experience from scratch following a recipe is an asset.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
• Familiar with industry’s best practices.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school is an asset.

Description

Prepares food in accordance with applicable corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare "mise en place" (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
