ESS Canada is seeking a Production Chef in Dubreuilville, ON to direct a high-volume kitchen, coordinate meal production, and ensure quality and safety standards across services and events.

The role requires strong leadership, food production expertise, and the ability to manage multiple menus while controlling costs and inventories. Travel is required for some events and shifts are 10 hours with a 20/10 rotation.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of foodservice or related management experience in high volume, food production environment
  • Post-secondary education in culinary or related studies
  • Red Seal Certificate and experience working in QSR preferred
  • Food Safe Certification

Description

As a Production Chef, you will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating assigned kitchen, food production and food-service associates.

  • Take responsibility for daily operations, such as preparation, cooking, presentation and services periods
  • Be responsible for occasional catering events
  • Ensure all health and safety policies are followed
  • Perform administrative duties that include completion of weekly purchase summaries, scheduling associates for events, inventory
  • Direct and supervise all aspects of food production and services
  • Coordinate and prepare a large volume of meals daily following several different menus and concepts
  • Ensure appropriate portions and presentation
  • Plan production, delegate tasks and manage kitchen staff
  • Control and recycle surplus production
  • Assist with assessment of food requirements according to the menu and inventory, ordering the necessary commodities according to operational standards
  • Complete production sheets and/or register
  • Control the quality of commodities as soon as they arrive and rotate the stock
  • Place orders
  • Adhere to the budget
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation and safety standards
  • Assist with service provision as needed

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of foodservice or related management experience in high volume, food production environment
  • Post-secondary education in culinary or related studies
  • Red Seal Certificate and experience working in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) preferred
  • Food Safe Certification
  • Advanced Food Safe or Red Seal certification is an asset
  • Creative ability to apply trendy food items and presentations to operations
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, paying attention to accuracy and detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Solid knowledge of hygiene and occupational health and safety standards
  • Customer service oriented and strong communication skills
  • Capable of performing administrative duties
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Willingness to accommodate a flexible work schedule (including weekends)

Position Requirements:

  • Valid full driver's license with a clean record
  • Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Pass a Criminal Record Check
  • Shift: 10hr/Day
  • Rotation: 20 Days on/ 10 Days off

The hourly wage for this position is $26.00 . Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
