Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Kettle Coordinator II for a short-term contract in Medicine Hat, Alberta. You will oversee multiple Christmas Kettle locations in a geographic zone, supervise volunteers, recruit new helpers, and ensure secure handling of donations across shifts.

Ideal candidates have a high school background or coursework, at least one year of customer service experience, and a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

• Some high school coursework; completion of high school is an asset.
• One year of related experience or working in customer service.
• Money handling experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Attend training/orientation for The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign.
• Provide support in getting Kettles to zone locations prior to volunteer arrival at Campaign onset.
• Ensure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completion.
• Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to City/Assistant Coordinator.
• Supervise, support and assign Kettle Volunteers throughout the Campaign.
• Participate in the recruitment of new volunteers.
• Visit locations during shift changes and intermittently.
• Communicate daily with ATL partner for effective transition.
• Ensure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely (weekly basis).
• Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved), ensuring security of donations received.
