Job summary

Svante is seeking a Seal System Manager to lead the development and deployment of high-performance sealing systems for our carbon-capture machines. You will guide the Seal Team, drive seal architectures, and coordinate across design, verification, testing, and deployment activities onsite in Burnaby with occasional travel to customer sites and supplier facilities.

The role requires a Mechanical or Materials Engineering degree with 5+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years in leadership, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience and at least 2 years of leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of sealing applications, including O-rings, lip seals, mechanical seals, and other sealing technologies.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor) and ability to review 3D designs and 2D drawings.
• Strong understanding of machine design and materials fundamentals with demonstrated problem-solving and failure-analysis capabilities.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and organizational skills to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective technical leadership and mentorship to the Seal Team through ideation, design, verification, testing, and deployment of seal systems.
• Ensure seal architectures and engineering packages—including 3D CAD models, drawings, documentation, and BOMs—are complete and aligned with requirements.
• Coordinate seal system development activities, establish priorities, address roadblocks, and align with Contactor Manager and Project Managers.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Test, Simulation, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to deliver reliable seal designs and successful customer deployments.
• Contribute to technical analysis, failure investigations, corrective actions, and ongoing development of seal systems while building team capability.
