Job summary

Svante Inc. in Burnaby, BC, is seeking a Seal System Manager to lead development and delivery of sealing systems for Svante’s carbon-capture machines. You will mentor the Seal Team and coordinate seal system activities across design, verification, testing and deployment.

This on-site leadership role requires a Mechanical or Materials engineer with 5+ years in sealing tech, strong CAD skills, and proven cross-functional collaboration. Occasional travel to customer sites and suppliers is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of sealing applications including O-rings, lip seals, and mechanical seals used in mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor) and capability to review 3D designs and 2D drawings.
• Solid understanding of machine design and materials fundamentals with problem-solving and failure-analysis capabilities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams and coordinate stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Seal Team through ideation, design, verification, testing, and deployment of seal systems.
• Ensure architectures and engineering packages (3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs) are complete and aligned with requirements.
• Coordinate seal system development activities, establish priorities, and remove roadblocks with project managers and engineers.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Testing, Quality, and other teams to deliver reliable seal designs for customer projects.
• Contribute to technical analysis, failure investigations, and continuous development of seal systems while growing team capability.
