Job summary

Purpose of the Role:
As the Seal System Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of performant and reliable sealing systems used in Svante’s commercial-scale carbon-capture machines. You will provide technical direction, guidance, and mentorship to the Seal Team while coordinating seal system development across design, verification, testing, and deployment activities.
You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and subject matter experts to develop seal architectures, establish priorities, remove technical and operational roadblocks, and ensure seal engineering packages are complete, accurate, and aligned with project requirements. You will also collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, supply chain, testing, simulation, quality, and project management to support successful design development and customer deployment.
This is an on-site leadership role with occasional travel to customer sites and supplier facilities to support development activities, corrective actions, and field-service investigations. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical or materials engineering professional with strong sealing expertise and leadership experience to contribute to the development of innovative carbon-capture technology.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience and at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
• You have strong knowledge of sealing applications, including O-rings, lip seals, mechanical seals, and other sealing technologies used in mechanical systems.
• You have strong proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or equivalent, with the ability to review 3D designs and 2D engineering drawings.
• You have a strong understanding of machine design and materials fundamentals, along with demonstrated problem-solving and failure-analysis capabilities.
• You have strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage priorities, remove roadblocks, mentor team members, and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

What Success Looks Like in This Role:

• You will provide effective technical leadership and mentorship to the Seal Team throughout the ideation, design, verification, testing, and deployment of seal systems.
• You will ensure seal architectures and engineering packages—including 3D CAD models, drawings, documentation, and bills of material—are complete, accurate, and aligned with established requirements and acceptance criteria.
• You will effectively coordinate seal system development activities, establish priorities, address technical roadblocks, and maintain alignment with the Contactor Manager, Project Managers, and other key stakeholders.
• You will collaborate effectively with Supply Chain, Test, Simulation, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and performant seal designs and support successful deployment in customer projects.
• You will contribute to technical analysis, failure investigations, corrective actions, and continuous development of seal systems while building team capability and supporting high-performing talent.
