Job summary

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, sanitary and attractive appearance of school buildings and facilities. The successful candidate will perform cleaning and maintenance duties in a professional, efficient, proactive and safe manner under HRCE policies.

This position falls under the NSUPE collective agreement. HRCE encourages applications from underrepresented groups and requires a satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs for cleaning duties.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to work day, evening, and night shifts.
• Previous janitorial experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, sanitary and attractive appearance of school buildings and facilities.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties in a professional, efficient, proactive and safe manner.
• Work within the policies and procedures of the Department and the Centre.
