Job summary

Halifax Regional Centre for Education is seeking a Custodian to support the Operations Services Department by maintaining clean, sanitary and attractive school facilities. The role involves cleaning, basic maintenance and safety-conscious work under the direction of the Caretaker and Building Management Supervisor.

Responsibilities include performing a full range of janitorial duties, adhering to HRCE policies, and contributing to a welcoming learning environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50lbs to perform cleaning and janitorial duties.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to work all shift schedules including day, evening and nights.
• Previous janitorial experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties in school buildings and facilities.
• Maintain a sanitary and attractive appearance of facilities.
• Report to the Caretaker and Building Management Supervisor.
