Job summary

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education is seeking a Custodian to support the Operations Services Department. You will maintain clean, sanitary, and attractive school facilities and perform cleaning and maintenance duties safely and efficiently under department procedures.

The role reports to the Caretaker and Building Management Supervisor, with shifts including day, evening, and night. Applicants from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs to perform janitorial duties.
• Basic computer skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions of school facilities.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Report to the Caretaker and follow directions from Building Management Supervisor.
