Job summary

YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is seeking a part-time Registered Early Childhood Educator for Minesing Central YMCA Before & After School Program. The role focuses on nurturing healthy, strong communities through caring for children and delivering play-based learning.

You will work Monday to Friday (27.5 hours) with shifts roughly 7:00–9:15 a.m. and 3:15–6:00 p.m. on school days, with various locations beyond instructional days possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• First Aid and CPR (Level C) or completion within 90 days of hire.
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Up-to-date immunizations as per local health guidelines and YE Act.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to children including toileting/diaper changes, first aid, and medication administration.
• Supervise and ensure safety of up to 15 children in a group setting.
• Plan and implement play-based learning aligned with YMCA Curriculum.
• Maintain positive, professional communication with families, staff, and volunteers.
• Create an inclusive environment supporting children with exceptional behaviours and additional needs.
• Adhere to schedule to maintain ratios and notify supervisor of scheduling changes.
• Demonstrate flexibility with routines and schedules.
• Other duties as assigned.
