Job summary

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is hiring for a School Age Early Childhood Educator in Barrie. This part-time role supports the Sister Catherine Donnelly YMCA Before & After School Program with 27.5 hours per week and split shifts.

Immediate start with a schedule aligned to school days, and remote eligibility. Responsibilities include supervising up to 15 children, delivering play-based learning, ensuring safety, and effective communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ with First Aid & CPR Level C certification OR complete within first 90 days
  • Vulnerable Sector Check required
  • Availability Monday to Friday, 27.5 hours per week, split shifts on school days
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 kg, and work outdoors in all weather
  • Registered RECE or eligible for registration OR related early childhood qualification

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care, supervision, and safety for groups of up to 15 children in a before/after school program
