Job summary

YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is hiring School Age Site Supervisors and Educators for Elgin County. Roles involve leading a child-centered program for elementary children, ensuring safety, and providing supportive services to families.

Positions operate Monday–Friday with schedules aligned to the elementary calendar; part-time or full-time shifts may vary by location. Competitive hourly wages reflect qualifications and region.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children aged 4–12 in work or school placements.
• Plans to enroll, or be pursuing, a diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field.
• ECE graduates must be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
• Related-field graduates should be members of their professional associations as required.
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
• Minimum age 18 and consent to a Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check.
• Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health and education authorities.
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a consistent child-centered program for elementary age children per YMCA curriculum.
• Provide quality compassionate care and support to children and families.
• Ensure supervision and safety of children at all times; follow policies and procedures.
