Job summary

Entegris, Inc. in Scarborough, Ontario is seeking a Process Development Engineer to advance chemical manufacturing from lab to pilot and full production.

You will design experiments, build process understanding, and lead scale-up with close collaboration across R&D, Operations, EHS, and business teams. The role requires a chemical engineering degree and 3–8+ years of experience, plus strong data analysis, modelling, and safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering.
• 3–8+ years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing.
• Experience with pilot plant operations and chemical processing equipment.
• Strong data analysis, modelling and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with process safety methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize chemical processes.
• Develop process understanding through data analysis and engineering fundamentals.
• Lead scale-up activities from laboratory to pilot and manufacturing environments.
• Identify process risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Troubleshoot process issues during development and production campaigns.
• Support process characterization and process robustness studies.
• Use modelling software (ASPEN, Visimix) to simulate processes.
• Support technology transfer into manufacturing.
• Develop control strategies and operating windows.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances.
• Define equipment requirements and participate in equipment selection.
• Support commissioning, qualification, and startup of new process equipment.
• Evaluate automation, control strategies, and process improvements.
