Job summary

Entegris Canada Ltd. is seeking a Process Development Engineer in Toronto to advance chemical manufacturing processes from lab to production.

You will design experiments, build process knowledge, and lead scale-up efforts while partnering with R&D, Operations, EHS and business teams. The role requires a Chemical Engineering degree with 3–8+ years of experience, strong data analysis and modeling skills, and experience with pilot plants and process safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering.
  • 3-8+ years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing.
  • Experience with pilot plant operations and chemical processing equipment.
  • Strong data analysis, modeling and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with process safety methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize chemical processes.
  • Develop process understanding through data analysis and engineering fundamentals.
  • Lead scale-up activities from laboratory to pilot and manufacturing environments.
  • Identify process risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Troubleshoot process issues during development and production campaigns.
  • Support process characterization and process robustness studies.
  • Use modeling software (ASPEN, Visimix) to simulate processes.
  • Support technology transfer into manufacturing.
  • Develop control strategies and operating windows.
  • Develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances.
  • Define equipment needs and participate in equipment selection.
  • Support commissioning, qualification, and startup of new process equipment.
  • Evaluate automation, control strategies, and process improvements.

Process Development Engineer

The Role

Entegris is currently seeking a Process Development Engineer to join our Scale-up and Manufacturing Readiness team. This position will be based in our Toronto facility. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, scaling, and troubleshooting chemical manufacturing processes from laboratory through pilot and manufacturing scales. The engineer will work closely with R&D, Operations, EHS, and business teams to accelerate the commercialization of new products and processes.

What You’ll Do

Please note, this role is for an existing vacancy with an expected compensation range of $85,000- $105,000 CAD.
