Job summary

Roofmart, Canada’s national distributor for exterior building supplies, is seeking a Saw Operator to fabricate materials for roofing applications by operating a sliding panel saw, reading shop drawings, and maintaining quality and safety standards. You will report to the Production Supervisor and contribute to accurate cutting, packing, and inventory control in a fast-paced warehouse.

Job Description

Role: Saw Operator

Objectives: Fabrication of material for roofing applications. Produces cut material by operating a sliding panel saw; interprets shop drawings; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment. The Saw Operator reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

Prepares orders by cutting various types of insulation based on cut lists, and shop drawings using a sliding panel saw; ensures accuracy and quality of orders Pulling materials, packing, wrapping and labelling pallets; placing materials in staging area Verifies quality by measuring pieces; adheres to quality assurance procedures and processes Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following maintenance guidelines Assist in effective completion of inventory audits Maintains quality service by following organization standards Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping warehouse neat; complying with established policies and procedures Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications

Teamwork, coordination, organization, planning, time management, reporting skills, documentation skills, equipment maintenance, dependability, attention to detail, process improvement Construction / carpentry / trade / table saw operation experience considered an asset Ability to read technical drawings and interpret information effectively Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment High comfort level working in a diverse environment Valid Forklift License (training can be provided) Able to work in shift/overtime as required Working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment Compliance with OH&S act / provincial workplace safety regulations Ability to lift, push, and carry 80–100 lbs Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions, including bending, twisting, and reaching Ability to work in a high-paced production environment and meet production targets Exposure to dust and noise (with use of required PPE)

Salary range: 20.00-24.00$/hour ***this is a replacement***
