Role Description

The Salesperson is a full-time, on-site role based in Langford, BC. This position is responsible for assisting walk-in customers and contractors with product selection, providing knowledgeable advice on building materials, and generating accurate quotations and orders. Daily tasks include responding to inquiries in person and by phone, processing sales transactions, coordinating with the yard and delivery teams, and ensuring product displays are organized and well-stocked. The Salesperson will maintain strong relationships with repeat customers, follow up on open quotes, and support promotional activities or sales campaigns. The role also involves learning product lines, staying current on pricing and inventory, and adhering to safety and company policies. $48,000 – $65,000 annually plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Customer service and sales skills, including the ability to build rapport, understand customer needs, and close sales.
• Knowledge of building materials, construction or renovation processes, or a strong willingness to learn product lines quickly.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information in clear, accessible language.
• Basic math and computer skills for preparing quotes, processing transactions, and working with inventory or point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to work on-site in a busy retail and yard environment, including standing for extended periods and handling light to moderate lifting as required.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in orders and paperwork.
• Previous experience in retail sales, building supplies, or construction is an asset but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications related to construction or sales are beneficial.
