Our client is seeking a commercially driven Sales Manager to lead its sales, and customer service functions. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this leadership role is responsible for building revenue and gross profit through new customers, markets, products, services, and industry opportunities, while ensuring a consistent, high-quality customer experience through a team of 10 sales professionals.
The successful candidate will combine strategic sales leadership with hands‑on marketing capability. They will lead a team, establish clear performance expectations, use data to guide decisions, and work closely with product and process development to ensure commercial initiatives are prioritized, properly scoped, and positioned for success.
This is an in-office role based around the Tri‑Cities.
Some of what you will do in this role includes:
- Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate Sales, and Customer Service employees to achieve established targets and service standards.
- Develop and execute sales plans that support the company’s growth objectives, including new customer, territory, product, service, and industry development.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, CRM records, budgets, and revenue‑generation plans.
- Monitor sales activity, business pipelines, customer information, and orders to ensure accuracy, responsiveness, and effective follow‑through.
- Partner with the Vice President of Sales to prioritize sales‑related research and development initiatives, including timelines, budgets, development costs, and return‑on‑investment analysis.
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing initiatives, including sales collateral, presentations, advertising, email marketing, trade shows, product information, market studies, competitive intelligence, and web content.
- Oversee and maintain marketing materials, product sell sheets, presentation templates, advertising, and promotional content.
- Develop targeted marketing programs for OEM customers and support the development of corporate marketing plans.
- Analyze market, customer, and internal business data to identify trends, improve decision‑making, and strengthen marketing effectiveness.
- Manage departmental budgets and marketing expenditures, ensuring activities are justified, tracked, and adjusted based on return on investment.
- Lead customer satisfaction survey activity, including program design, delivery, evaluation, follow‑up, and continuous improvement actions.
- Work with Accounting to support timely collection of past‑due receivables.
- Maintain strong departmental processes, records, cross‑training plans, and business continuity procedures.
- Participate in annual budgeting and provide sales forecasts, revenue projections, and cost‑control information.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer‑focused culture across the organization.
You should have the following in your background to be successful:
- Post‑secondary education in business administration, sales, marketing, customer service, negotiation, communications, or a related field; a business degree or diploma is preferred.
- At least three years of leadership experience, ideally within a manufacturing or product‑based environment.
- Demonstrated experience in sales leadership, business development, marketing, forecasting, budgeting, and customer relationship management.
- Strong ability to develop practical sales and marketing strategies that generate measurable revenue and gross‑profit growth.
- Experience working with CRM, ERP/MRP, Microsoft Office, and financial or accounting systems; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and website content management would be an asset.
- Strong commercial judgment, analytical ability, financial acumen, negotiation skills, project‑management capability, and attention to detail.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to coach teams, manage priorities, and drive accountability.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license and the ability to travel as required.
