Job Summary

The Sales Coordinator is an inside sales professional who is passionate about selling the sports and recreational experience with a truly differentiated competitive advantage. They are primarily responsible for uncovering additional sport surface sales and booking opportunities through effective management of the complex surface flow, including contracts, spot rentals, public programs, third-party tournaments, birthday parties, and corporate events.

This role supports the entire sales and community outreach process; from raising awareness and promoting the complex's products and services, to introducing the complex to prospects, and maintaining ongoing communication throughout the customer 'life-cycle'.

  • Manage and maintain the complex's operating systems related to Ice Contracts, Spot Rentals, Public Programs, and Tournaments
  • Administer and execute all programming, including but not limited to :

Developing and promoting public programs like PA Day and Stat Holiday programs

  • Managing equipment rental programs
  • Developing new third-party tournaments and ice contract opportunities
  • Exploring non-traditional rentals such as commercial shoots and corporate events
  • Retaining existing contracts and growing surface sales with targets set by management
  • Organizing birthday parties and corporate events
  • Managing the ice flow in the operating system (ASHL, Contracts, Rentals, Events)
  • Ensuring all contracts are duly signed and payments are managed
  • Conducting competitor analysis of similar services
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Assist in developing and executing a proactive sales strategy for the complex, including community outreach and strategic sales initiatives
  • Support the creation of the annual sports surface plan to maximize all revenue opportunities
  • Identify and develop new customer relationships and revenue opportunities
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly reviews to analyze sales effectiveness
  • Work as Manager On Duty on a regular basis

Team Development and Customer Relations

Customer Focus

  • Ensure customers experience 'best-in-class' service and satisfaction under the guidance of the Sales and Customer Care Manager and General Manager

Maintain ongoing relationships with contract customers to maximize revenue and ensure long-term sustainability

  • Lead the creation and execution of in-house tournaments and act as the main contact for third-party events

Decision Making and Results

Financial and Administrative Management

  • Assist in managing contracts and accounts receivable as directed by the Sales Manager
  • Provide regular performance reports and strategic insights to meet sales targets
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Strategic Relationships and Conflict Management

  • Support collaboration with departments like sports leagues, food & beverage, and sports stores to meet complex goals

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, marketing, or recreation (asset)
  • 1-2 years' experience in sports / recreational sales (asset)
  • Proven ability to close sales
  • Experience in inside sales (asset)
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and database management
  • Knowledge of online and social media platforms
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, and varying shifts
