Job summary

Interpro Pipe & Steel Inc. seeks an experienced Safety Supervisor to lead frontline safety across mill operations, including melt shop, tubular production, finishing, maintenance, coating, and contractor activities.

You will coach teams, conduct observations, enforce safe practices, and ensure regulatory compliance while collaborating with safety and operations leadership to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
• OH&S Practitioners Certificate, CRST or CRSP preferred.
• 3–5 years of safety management or supervisory experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction settings.
• Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills; ability to assess risks and implement effective controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily peer‑to‑peer coaching to employees on hazard recognition and safe decision‑making.
• Maintain high visibility on the floor and model correct behaviours.
• Lead toolbox talks and targeted safety conversations based on risks or incidents.
• Conduct routine work observations and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Review operating procedures and job hazard analyses for accuracy and alignment with current practices.
• Support front‑line leaders in updating procedures when changes occur and verify LOTO compliance.
• Conduct lockout/tagout (LOTO) reviews and ensure energy isolation steps are followed.
• Oversee day‑shift contractor activities to meet site safety requirements.
• Participate in incident investigations and root‑cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Provide shift‑level safety updates and assist in emergency drills and training as needed.
