Job Description

Harbour Air is looking for a detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to support the day-to-day coordination of our Health & Safety programs. You'll keep our training records, safety data, and documentation running accurately and on time, while using data to help us spot trends and opportunities to keep improving how we operate. This is a role for someone who's as comfortable in a spreadsheet as they are following up with a manager on an overdue certification.

TERM: Full Time Permanent
Reporting to: Head of People, Culture & Safety
Responsibilities and Expectations
Administration of Aviation & Corporate Safety Programs
  • Assign, maintain, and track safety training records and Health & Safety data in the safety management system
  • Update the learning management system (Aerostudies) with training requirements for each role, notify managers, and send course renewal reminders to employees
  • Keep Aviation and Corporate Safety website content current and aligned with regulatory requirements
Data Automation & Reporting
  • Enter safety-related data into databases and spreadsheets, and generate reports, charts, and dashboards to track safety performance indicators and trends
  • Analyze data to identify patterns and areas for improvement
  • Automate and streamline reporting processes, consolidating information from multiple sources into weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety summaries
Document & Record Management
  • Organize and maintain safety-related documents, policies, procedures, and manuals, ensuring they stay accurate, current, and accessible to stakeholders
  • Maintain key documents including the Training Master Sheet, Occurrence Report System records, First-Aid Attendant lists/certificates, and the Emergency Response Plan
  • Produce and distribute Transportation of Dangerous Goods credentials to employees who've completed training
  • Provide employees with access to safety data and resources through MyHA
Meeting Coordination
  • Schedule and coordinate safety meetings and training sessions, including company safety orientation and the Health & Safety Committee
  • Prepare meeting materials, agendas, presentations, and minutes
Qualifications/Assets - What You Bring!
Required
  • College diploma in Data Analytics, Airport Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field, plus a minimum of 1+ year of experience in the aviation industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of Transport Canada's Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Aviation Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and Canada Labour Code – Part II
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, with the ability to turn raw data into clear trends and insights
  • Excellent administration, organization, and time management skills
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Based in Vancouver, BC and legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred
  • Experience creating and updating departmental manuals and procedural documentation
  • Familiarity with safety management systems or learning management systems (e.g., Aerostudies)
  • Experience with dashboard or data visualization tools
