Holy Family seeks a part-time Educational Assistant for the 50% position in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. The role is a temporary SEIU-West union position with a start of November 16, 2026 and end of June 25, 2027.

Hours are 3 per day, afternoon shifts, Monday through Friday on student days. Rate of pay follows SEIU-West agreement. A current driver’s license is preferred.

Formación

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Post-secondary courses in Early Childhood Development, Educational Assistant, Personal Care Aide or similar would be asset.
• Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Physical Assault Response would be asset.
• Experience with high needs children with emotional needs would be asset.
• Experience with Pre-Kindergarten children would be asset.

Responsabilidades

• Provide student support in afternoon sessions, 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday when school is in session.
• Assist with medical needs, dressing, eating, toileting, and transfers as required.
• Support Pre-Kindergarten children and help with transportation and activities as needed.

Rate of Pay: As per SEIU-West Agreement

Required Skills/Training:

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Post-secondary courses in programs such as Early Childhood Development, Educational Assistant, Personal Care Aide or similar related areas and/or related experience would be considered an asset.
• Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Physical Assault Response would be considered an asset.
• Experience with, and ability to handle, high needs children with a variety of emotional needs would be considered an asset.
• Experience with, and ability to handle, the needs of Pre-Kindergarten children would be considered an asset.
• Based on the needs of individual students, ability to provide support with medical needs, assistance in occupational therapy, physical therapy, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring and transportation could be required.
• First Aid/CPR would be considered an asset.
• Possess a current and valid driver’s license.

Requirements:

• Familiarity and understanding of the practices of the Roman Catholic Faith would be considered an asset
• Recent (within 6 months) Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check upon employment
