Job summary

Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division 140 seeks an Educational Assistant for a temporary full-time role (S27-006- FT REPOST). The position runs Sep 21, 2026 to Dec 22, 2026, with six hours per day, Monday to Friday on student days, and compensation as per SEIU-West.

The candidate will have post-secondary training in ECD or related areas, NVCI and CPR/First Aid training, and experience with high-needs and Pre-K children. A valid driver’s license and RC check are required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary courses in ECD, Educational Assistant or related areas are assets.
• NVCI training and Physical Assault Response training would be assets.
• Experience with high-needs children and Pre-Kindergarten is an asset.
• Ability to assist with medical needs and transportation could be required.
• First Aid/CPR would be an asset.
• Possess a current and valid driver’s license.
• Familiarity with Roman Catholic faith practices would be an asset.
• Recent (within 6 months) Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check upon employment

Responsibilities

• Assist students with medical needs and daily care tasks.
• Support students during occupational and physical therapy sessions.
• Assist with dressing, eating, toileting and transferring as needed.

Educational Assistant

Temporary Full –Time (100%)

Start Date: September 21, 2026 End Date: December 22, 2026

Hours: 6 hours per day, M to F on student days

Rate of Pay: As per SEIU-West Agreement

Required Skills/Training:

Post-secondary courses in programs such as Early Childhood Development, Educational Assistant, Personal Care Aide or similar related areas and/or related experience would be considered an asset.

Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Physical Assault Response would be considered an asset.

Experience with, and ability to handle, high needs children with a variety of emotional needs would be considered an asset.

Experience with, and ability to handle, the needs of Pre-Kindergarten children would be considered an asset.

Based on the needs of individual students, ability to provide support with medical needs, assistance in occupational therapy, physical therapy, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring and transportation could be required.

First Aid/CPR would be considered an asset.

Possess a current and valid driver’s license.

Requirements:
