Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for a 0.40 FTE permanent role in Oshawa, Ontario. The RPN will provide professional nursing care to residents and lead Personal Support Workers on the unit, in collaboration with the RN, physicians, and the health care team.

The ideal candidate has geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing experience, knowledge of Ontario nursing standards, and holds a current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Qualifications

• Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
• Knowledge of applicable Canadian health acts and regulations.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and good standing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the RN to implement AgeCare policies on the unit.
• Liaise with physicians and health care team members as needed.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers on the care team.
• Assist with shift handovers and communicate changes in resident status.
• Ensure residents’ care needs are met with the team.
