Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for part-time, regular shifts in Oshawa. The RPN will provide professional nursing care to residents, supervise Personal Support Workers, and collaborate with the health care team to meet residents’ needs.

The role involves communicating with physicians and participating in shift reports to ensure continuity of care. Ideal candidates hold a current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and maintain active membership.

Qualifications

• A sound knowledge of geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
• Familiarity with Ontario health acts and safety regulations.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Member in good standing of the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, implements AgeCare policies on the unit.
• Liaises with physicians and other health care team members.
• Immediately notifies the physician of any significant changes in resident status in the absence of the RN.
• Provides direction to Personal Support Workers on the care team.
• Participates in shift reports to inform team of resident status changes.
