Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Rotating Equipment Specialist to lead technical support for rotating equipment across customer operations in Canada. You will develop maintenance and replacement strategies to maximize reliability and lifecycle value, while partnering with Condition Monitoring teams and field staff to drive uptime and performance.

The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, deep knowledge of Caterpillar engines and gearboxes, and the ability to travel to customer and Finning

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyperson certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright.
• 8+ years of experience maintaining and repairing rotating equipment in gas compression, power generation, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of Caterpillar engines and equipment, plus experience with other major OEM products.
• Experience with gas turbines, compressors, generators, pumps, turbo-expanders, or power systems equipment.
• Expertise in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement strategies.
• Ability to interpret equipment data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer and Finning locations as required.

In this highly visible role, you’ll combine technical expertise, customer engagement, and strategic planning to help customers reduce total cost of ownership while maximizing uptime and equipment performance.

• Expertise in troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, and reliability improvement strategies
• Ability to interpret equipment performance data and turn insights into actionable recommendations
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer and Finning locations as required
