Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (Red Seal) to become a Resident Technician in the Quesnel area. You will troubleshoot, maintain and repair Caterpillar general line, forestry and mining equipment in a field environment, with opportunities to work on ultra-class equipment.

The role requires self-motivation, a focus on safety, and the ability to work with limited supervision. Union membership and local shifts may apply. Residence in Quesnel is expected.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification.
• Valid class 5 drivers license with a clean abstract.
• Dedication to safety and ability to work with limited supervision.
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems.
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line is an asset.
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience is an asset.
• Power generation experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs (remote locations possible).
• Interface with customers, products and sales support.
• Work with the Supervisor on various tasks.
• Provide support with on-site safety requirements.
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment.

Finning Canada is seeking the best Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal) to become a Resident Technician in the Quesnel area. Our Heavy Duty Mechanics are responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, forestry and mining equipment throughout the region in a field environment. This role offers an opportunity to work on ultra-class Caterpillar equipment, and service machinery for the biggest players.
